Mojo Monday #395

So now I have a blog...
You know the saying, "one thing leads to another"? Well, this card is my "one thing" and this blog is my "another."  I started scrapbooking in 2010, and started hoarding pretty paper almost immediately.  My paper obsession and ever growing stash led me beyond scrapbooking into the world of cardmaking and papercrafts of all sorts.
 
Mojo Monday Challenge #395 (Tall and Skinny)
Lately, I've been in a creative rut. After an informal poll of a group of talented cardmakers, I decided to try my hand at card and page layout challenges to help me shake up my design style. Mojo Monday was the first to be recommended, so I headed right over and got started. I played along with this strange, new-to-me game, doing my best to follow the rules (something I'm not always good at doing). 
 
When I was done, I realized two things. One, that even when given specific measurements, I am measurement challenged. The designer over at Mojo Monday called it a Tall and Skinny sketch, but my card turned out to be not so tall and not at all skinny (kind of like me).  The second thing I realized was that to officially play along with the challenge and add my card to the gallery, I had to have a blog. So now I have a blog! I hope you'll follow along with me as I find new sources of inspiration and try out new design styles and techniques.

      Thank you! This was my first attempt at a sketch challenge. In fact, it's the first time I've tried to follow a sketch. Now that it's done I see I got the size all wrong and didn't follow very well. Even so, it was fun to have something as a guideline instead of staring at a blank card front wondering what to do. I look forward to playing along next week.
